UD weaving is a weaving style wherein fibers run along the length of the fabric and majority of the weight is in the wrap direction with just a binder thread across the weft direction thereby giving strength in one particular direction. UD aramid, basalt, carbon or fiberglass fabrics are used extensively for structural strengthening, retrofitting and rehabilitation by wrapping around beams or columns.
